Wollie Nyvelt’s Assassin has earned itself a well-deserved reputation as one of the best ride everywhere resort busting snowboards on the market. Designed by Wollie himself, this category-defying snowboard has rewritten the rulebook on all-terrain snowboarding. Built around a unique directional twin shape, the Assassin delivers the perfect balance of freestyle board feel and control with the float and piste performance of a freeride board, making it the ideal choice for seasonaires or anyone who wants one board that can do it all. Now the key to the Assassin’s stunning performance across so many disciplines lies in its advanced construction and profile. Heading this up is the versatile Rock-Out camber. This blend of rocker, camber and flat sections perfectly harmonises with the grippy Quadralizer sidecut and high-performance Poster Eco Booster ABC Wrapper construction to deliver the Assassin’s stunning performance across whatever and wherever you ride.
Rider Style
Intermediate to expert riders looking for a high-performance all-terrain board that can ride everything and everywhere.
Shape Overview
The Assassin utilises an advanced Wollie Nyvelt designed directional twin chassis. This state-of-the-art shape delivers a balanced overall ride, giving you all the control you could ever need. However, thanks to the advanced nose shape, which features extended zones at the contact points, you get that balance and control without compromising the Assassin’s ability to deliver great float in the pow and blast through chop and crud. To help the Assassin deliver its outstanding performance on the piste, Salomon fit their advanced Quadralizer sidecut. This unique sidecut geometry combines Equalizer with Quadratic zones to deliver genuinely mind-blowing levels of grip and control.
Profile
To ensure that the Assassin delivers excellent performance across all types of riding and terrain, Salomon utilises their state-of-the-art Rock Out Camber. This complex profile combines rocker zones at the contact points with a camber under the feet and a flat section between the bindings. This unique profile delivers a versatile ride, ensuring that no matter what or where you ride, you know that this board never feels wanting.
Construction
Internally the Assassin’s advanced construction is headed up with the state-of-the-art Popster Eco Booter Aspen Select Core. This hand-selected Aspen core is reinforced with bamboo rods to deliver a poppy and powerful flex through the length. To give the core its optimum flex, Salomon put it through a unique milling process, creating thick and thin zones throughout the length. These different thicknesses create softer and stiffer zones through the board’s length to optimise the board’s flex pattern. Now to give the Assassin its stunning all-around performance, Salomon utilises a combination of medium-density bi-ax glass structural layers and their unique ABC Green Roll construction. This mix of a Bamboo top sheet, basalt reinforcing in the nose and tail and cork sidewalls, steps up control and performance without overly affecting the Assassins freestyle-inspired feel.
Base
Salomon fits their Sintered EG base with a fine stone finish to ensure that the Assassin lives up to its high-performance credentials. This Galium-infused Electra base is both super-tough and super-fast, ensuring that it won’t be the board that holds you back.
