Over the years, Ride’s Warpig has earned itself an enviable reputation as one of the best of the new generation of all-terrain boards. Aimed at intermediate through to advanced riders, this versatile volume-shifted, fully directional board swaps length for volume to deliver a unique yet intoxicating ride over the whole mountain. Delivering a level of performance that will have you riding from first lift until last lift, no matter if you’re charging groomers, hitting up waist-deep backcountry powder stashes or even playing around in the park. The secret to the Warpig’s performance lies in its volume-shifted shape and class-leading construction. The short, wide, tapered directional chassis with a bi-radial sidecut delivers outstanding float and stability for a short board. Match that wider shape with the tight sidecut, and the Warpig takes on a nimble and lively feeling underfoot, making it an absolute hoot to ride. Internally Ride doesn’t hold back, which is why the Warpig is so much fun to ride. Its powerful and responsive Carbon Array 3 construction delivers the optimum balance of response, control and outright performance. So, no matter what or where you ride, the Warpig delivers a level of performance and fun that will keep you out on the hill as long as possible.
Rider Style: Freeriders
Advanced to expert freeriders looking for a short high-performance board that makes you rethink your whole approach to snowboarding.
Shape Overview: Volume Shifted Directional
The Warpigs advanced tapered volume shifted directional shape is designed to deliver the perfect balance of on-piste control with off-piste lift and float. The most obvious sign of this is the exaggerated blunt nose shape. This innovative nose design provides effortless lift and float without ever feeling overly weighty or unwieldy. Ride then matched this with a wide central platform under the feet. By adding width rather than length, you still get the same surface area, but you get that surface area in a far more manoeuvrable form, creating a floaty yet nimble board. The extra width also works well with Warpig’s aggressive sidecut with a centred stance. This geometry reduces toe and heel drag to an absolute minimum whilst giving the board a more balanced feel underfoot. This innovative shape results in a board that not only works great in the pow but a board you can crank on the piste and play around in the park.
Profile: Directional Zero Camber
The Warpigs Directional Zero Camber combines an extended rocker at the nose with a shorter less pronounced rocker at the tail. This combination gives excellent lift and float at the front of the board while still allowing the rear to drive out the back of the turn. Between the feet, the Warpig reverts to a flat profile. This gives a more predictable ride while still powering up the sidecut when on edge.
Construction
Internally the Warpig utilises Ride’s high-end Carbon Array 3 construction. Heading this up is the responsive Performance core. Constructed from high-strength Aspen, poppy Bamboo and lightweight Paulownia, it provides the perfect balance of strength, power and weight. Sitting on top of this are the Double Impact plates, which cushion the bindings from hard landings and add an extra layer of defence against core compression. The Warpigs structural layers are created from an advanced Hybrid Glassfibre. This combination of tri-ax glass on top and bi-ax on the base delivers the optimum torsional and longitudinal stiffness balance for the ultimate response and control. The structural layers are then further reinforced with the addition of the Carbon Array 3 reinforcing. By placing 3 carbon strips running from the contact points through the binding zones at both the tip and tail, Ride powers up the contact points, creating a faster and more responsive tip and tail engagement without compromising the torsional twist through the centre of the board.
