As the first true freestyle-focused snowboard that Jones has ever produced, the Tweaker is a radical step for the brand. Utilising a state of the art blunt-tipped shape, it delivers a fully balanced ride, so when you’re spinning on and off boxes and rails, you’ve got all the feel and control that you could ever need. However, don’t be tricked into thinking that the Tweaker is a super soft jib noodle that doesn’t belong in the Jones collection because it’s way more than that. Look a little bit deeper into the Tweaker and what you find is a state of the art snowboard that uses some of the most advanced design and technology to transform it from just another jib board into one of the most versatile true twins available. By combining an advanced double-radius nose and tail profile with an innovative flex pattern that is stiffer at the tips and progressively getting softer towards the centre, the Tweaker delivers exceptional float in deep snow and a carving performance that has to be experienced to be believed. The fact that it does this without compromising its more playful freestyle feel, thanks to that softer flex in the centre, really does make the Tweaker something rather special and unique.
Rider Style
Intermediate to expert riders looking for a truly versatile park-focused board that won’t hold them back in any terrain or conditions.
Shape Overview
The Tweaker’s advanced blunt profile true-twin shape has been designed to deliver a fully balanced ride that feels identical riding forwards and switch. The low swing weight tips take weight away from the ends giving the board a more neutral feel and giving the rider more control in the air and on boxes and rails. However, it’s the advanced nose and tail profile that separates the Tweaker from other boards in this category. The tips feature a double radius rocker profile that lifts the tip more at the very end. Combined with the heavily blunted tip shape, the Tweaker has more surface area and a longer running length than usual. The extra volume and running length improve board stability and stomp-ability, which is crucial for a board that has such a freestyle focused flex. Combine this with the pushed out transitions at the contact points, and not only do you get that stability and control but you also get a level of lift and float in the pow that’s unheard of with this type of board. The innovative 3D Contour Base 3.0 profiling in the nose and tail gives the board a smoother edge to edge transition and improves lift and float. To give the Tweaker extra grip when blasting the piste, it utilises Jones’s Traction Tech 3.0 Sidecut. This innovative technology adds additional traction points to the sidecut, allowing the board to rip through even the most bulletproof conditions.
Profile
The traditional full camber profile offers the insane edge response of camber without the usual hang-ups. The camber radius tapers into the bevelled 3D Contour Base at the tips, which releases the edges where they like to hook. It balances the pop and directional stability of camber with a looser, less-catchy feel.
3D Contour Base 3.0
One of the key ingredients to making the Tweaker so versatile is the innovative 3D Contour 3.0 base profile. This state of the art base shape features an even balance of 7mm spoon bevel in the nose and 7mm spoon bevel in the tail. This delivers three distinct benefits to the rider, the first of these is that it creates a smoother transition from edge to edge, helping give the Tweaker its smooth ride. Secondly, it lifts those contact points clear of the snow, creating a smooth, buttery freestyle feel, and finally, it helps channel snow flow down under the board, adding additional lift in the pow.
Construction
Heading up the Tweaker’s high-quality construction is the durable yet lightweight Classic Core. This premium poplar wood core delivers the perfect balance of performance, pop, flex and strength and is the ideal foundation for the Tweaker’s versatile ride. Now to give the board its perfect combination of playful freestyle flex with responsive carving performance Jones profile the core with their advanced V Core 3.0 profiling. The core is softer between the feet for easy turn initiation and stiffer in the nose and tail for stability riding through uneven terrain and landing airs. Now to ensure that the Tweaker delivers the perfect balance of playful freestyle feel and all terrain response it features structural layers formed from softer flexing Bi-Ax glass. Reinforced with Basalt Power Stringers they allow the board to flex easily whilst still powering up the contact points for a responsive and dynamic carve.
Base
As the Tweaker is all about high-performance, Jones gives it their newly developed high speed Sintered 8000-grade base. This durable material has superb wax holding properties so no matter how hard or how long you ride it’ll deliver a super-fast glide.
