DC’s EMB (Every Man’s Board) is, as the name suggests, DC’s ride everything and anything built for anyone who loves snowboarding. Combining the all-mountain versatility of its directional shape with a playful and skate-inspired flex, the EMB blurs the line between all-terrain and freestyle snowboarding to create a versatile board you can just strap into and go ride everything on the mountain. Ideal for riders from relatively inexperienced up to pro-level, thanks to its more freestyle focussed flex; the EMB truly is the board for everyman. Regarding construction, the EMB combines DC’s responsive Reactive core, playful bi-ax glass structural layers, and their skate-inspired Lock and Load Camber. This combination of a dynamic core with playful glass fibre and the versatile camber profile underpin the EMB’s ride anything nature, creating an easy-to-ride board that still has bags of performance.
Rider Style:
The EMB is aimed at riders of all ability levels who are looking for a ride anything board with the versatility of an all-terrain board and the soul of a freestyle board.
Shape Overview: Directional
The EMB is built around an all-terrain focussed mid-width directional shape. This versatile shape gives a predictable and versatile ride. The blunt tips reduce swing weight at the ends of the board to give it a bit more of a controllable feel for days in the park. The slightly wider riding platform gives a more stable ride and improves powder performance. The relatively tight sidecut works with the Lock and Load camber on the piste to give a responsive and dynamic ride.
Profile: Lock and Load Camber
To help give the EMB that all-terrain versatility, DC utilise its innovative Lock and Load Camber profile. This versatile camber profile combines traditional camber through the mid-section with extended flat zones to the transition points. This clever combination creates a flat, stable platform that gives the board its unique balance of skate-like playfulness and responsive and dynamic ride.
Internals
Internally the EMB combines the perfect mix of freestyle-friendly structural layers with a more dynamic all-terrain focussed core. The responsive Reactive core is formed from lightweight poplar running from tip to tail, with Beech laminates along the board’s edges. This combination creates a light board but also a board that feels powerful and dynamic underfoot. Now to ensure that the EMB retains its freestyle heart, the structural layers are formed from Bi-ax glass. This torsionally softer glass running fibres at 0° and 90° creates a more playful flex that is perfect for the increased control and feel you need in the park. To finish off the EMB, DC fit it with their innovative PLT top sheet. This state-of-the-art top sheet allows the designers to get a superior top-sheet finish and is applied to the board after it comes out of the press.
Base
As the EMB is all about performance, its no surprise then that DC utilise their lightening fast sintered Supreme base.
