Bern Macon 2.0 MIPS Helmet

The Macon 2.0 continues with its heritage freestyle looks but now with added tech features. MIPS technology provides additional safety rarely seen on a helmet at this price point. The EZ-Fit system adjusts naturally to the wearer’s head for a more precise fit and the ribbed EPS liner reduces the overall weight. Bern’s Thin Shell ABS outer is tough and hard-wearing with plenty of ventilation, making this a popular choice for those hitting jumps and rails. As the helmet is fully certified for snow, skate and bike use the ear pads and winter liner can be removed and replaced with the summer pad kit (included in the box).

When you fall on your head at an angle rotational forces are created which can contribute to brain injuries. MIPS uses a low friction layer between the shell and liner that allows a sliding movement of 10-15 mm in all directions, reducing rotational motion during impacts.
