If there’s one thing Amplid founder Peter Baur knows a lot about, it’s how to ride fast. As one of the best Alpine riders in the history of the sport, Peter’s knowledge of making a high-performance snowboard work at speed is second to none. That knowledge shines through in the stunning Surfari. As part of Amplid’s stunning Centrifugal collection, this powerhouse of a snowboard is designed for riders looking for a hard-charging board for riding piste and powder. Designed from the ground up to deliver outstanding carving performance in the turn, this stunning board has to be sat at the top of the shopping list for anyone who wants the ultimate carving performance. With its deceptively long edge, deep energised camber and state-of-the-art construction, Surfari has all the grip and power you need. However, unlike many boards in this category, the Surfari isn’t just a hard-charging piste board. Get it in the pow, and its advanced nose profile works with the cut-out tail, giving effortless float in the deep stuff. As with the other boards in the Centrifugal collection, the Surfari delivers its stunning performance without ever feeling overly aggressive. Thanks to the advanced Antiphase construction, the Surfari always feels like you’re in total control, delivering a smooth and precise ride that pushes you to ride faster and makes you want to stay out for as long as possible.

Shape Overview: Directional
The Surfari’s advanced shape directional shape utilises Amplid’s advanced 3D Crudbuster profiling. This convex 3D nose profile improves tracking and fluidity in deep snow. However, the contact points are not lifted to retain responsiveness, meaning you still get a dynamic edge engagement. In addition, the Ultra-wide, low rising Flotation Tips tips create lift in powder without sucking-up speed. The wider platform creates a stable overall feel whilst working in harmony with that fuller nose profile to improve float in the pow by increasing surface area rather than length. The mid-sidecut gives a predictable feel on edge in both long and short turns. At the tail, the cut-out swallow tail design allows the rear of the board to sink in deeper snow, again making powder performance effortless. That short stiffer tail also allows you to drive the board hard out of the turn.
Profile: Full Camber with Early Rise
The Surfari features a powerful camber for maximum edge hold and explosive pop. Early rise in the nose channel’s snow down and under the front of the board for effortless lift. The cut-out tail helps drop the tail in deep snow, removing the need to keep your weight on the back foot.
Construction
Heading up the Surfari’s high-end construction is the Light Core featuring Hex 02 technology. This state-of-the-art wood core is the industry standard for lightweight, durable and versatile performance. Uber light wood varieties are cut, treated and aligned in a format unique to Amplid to deliver an unrivalled strength-to-weight ratio. HEXO2 core replaces specific areas of weightier wood at the tips with a featherlight recycled paper honeycomb, eliminating swing weight. To add additional strength to the core and help reduce core compression at the binding edges, Amplid inserts tough, pre-cured composite impact plates placed beneath the bindings. These significantly reduce the risk of top sheet dings and breakages. To give the Surfari its beautifully smooth ride, it utilises the remarkable Antiphase technology. Antiphase™ is an advanced technology developed in-house by Amplid, which reduces vibrations, improving board stability. Unlike conventional damping, which relies on rubber elastomers to reduce vibrations, Antiphase™ is a multidirectional composite layer bonded to a non- Newtonian material, which sits between the board’s tip and binding. It disrupts a snowboard’s natural frequency, stopping vibrations that, left unchecked, amplify and end up as tip chatter. Now one of the secrets to the Surfari’s smooth performance is its bi-ax glass structural layers. These give the board a smoother torsional flex but thanks to the Centrifugal Carbon which places Unidirectional carbon stringers in the tail, it delivers that smoother flex without compromising drive and power.
Sintered 7HD Base
This premium sintered plastic readily absorbs wax and can out-run your riding buddies’ bases without breaking a sweat. You better get used to waiting.
